Michael attended the European Association for Osseointegration’s (EAO)
conference in Rome, along with 4000 other dentists and industry
specialists from around the world, who gathered to hear international
experts describing the latest developments in implant dentistry.
The focus of the conference this year centred around one main theme:
SPQR (Simplification, Predictability, Quality to achieve Results).
Michael found it to be an exciting meeting as well as professionally rewarding.
After the final lectures on Saturday, Rome beckoned with its beautiful
architecture, ancient monuments, churches, and a highlight for
Michael, the Leonardo da Vinci museum. Leonardo was an amazing
polymath and this museum focuses on his engineering inventions,
complete with working models.
Michael, being a ‘food maintenance processing engineer!’ himself, was
in his element and found it fascinating to see how many parts of our
daily lives are still based on Senor Da Vinci’s inventions.
